The Sambhali Trust is an NGO dedicated to providing education, financial aid, and counselling to at-risk communities in Rajasthan.
In India, a rigid social class system remains which see Daltits women and girls face awful discrimination. Founded on the principal of empowerment, the Sambhali Trust aims to break the cycle of poverty these ladies face, offering them hope and a path to a better future.

Defying social norms and judgment, the women of Sambhali Trust have courageously stepped out of their homes, aspiring to achieve more than household duties. At the heart of Sambhali are the Empowerment Centres, which provide underprivileged women with the resources to learn English, Maths, Hindi, and various vocational skills. By benefiting individual women and their communities, the ten Empowerment Centres have established a strong foundation and boosted local employment.
Overcoming gender stereotypes, discrimination, and poverty, the women of Sambhali Trust are dedicated to their education and personal development. Graduates from the Sambhali Empowerment Centres have the opportunity to create and design unique pieces for the Sambhali Boutique Shop. Each handmade item tells a story of resilience and care.
To support the Boutique’s mission of providing excellent working conditions and fair wages, we are committed to placing at least three large orders annually. This partnership helps ensure sustainable employment opportunities for these remarkable women.
The Sambhali Trust operates three boarding homes dedicated to providing better and healthier lives for young girls from isolated villages in rural Rajasthan.
Founded in 2012, the Sheerni Boarding Home in Jodhpur houses 20 girls aged 6-12 and offers them access to quality education. More recently, the Laadli Boarding Home was opened for an additional 20 girls aged 6-12, exposing them to the opportunities of city life and fostering important social connections.
Finally, the Abhayasthali Boarding Home supports young women who grew up in the Sheerni Boarding Home, guiding them through college and Sambhali classes, ensuring their continued development and empowerment.

The social issues and the need for progressive change within the caste system are apparent.
